CAN MY CHILD BE WITH HIS/HER FRIENDS?
Each child is allowed to make ONE friend request. Requests must be MUTUAL and campers must be within one grade of each other. We cannot guarantee placement if the request is not mutual. Please make sure your child’s friend has registered for camp and they have requested your child to be their buddy. If you need to change any friend request information please contact the camper coordinator as soon as possible. The cut off date for making friend request changes is May 5, 2024.
How are groups assigned?
Campers were assigned to their counselor groups with consideration given to the single, mutual friend requests. Half-day groups are sometimes a mixed group of boys and girls or a group of all boys or all girls. Our Full-day groups are assigned by gender. WHERE SHOULD I PICK UP MY CHILD?
In order to accommodate such large numbers of children safely, we must exercise security measures. We are asking for your cooperation and know it is for the safety of your children.
Parents or guardians will need to pick up their children (in person) in the designated spot for their group in the front parking lot – 12pm for Half Day Camp and 4:00 pm for Full Day Camp. Please do not pick up your child from inside the church building. Children will be released only from the parking lot.
We want Summer Hummer to be a positive experience for all.
There are several things you, as parents, can do to help us achieve this goal:

There are several things you, as parents, can do to help us achieve this goal:
- The parking lots are very busy at drop-off and pick-up times. Please be extra alert while driving. The children are excited and may not be paying attention to the traffic. They can appear suddenly from between cars.
- To assure your full attention is on your driving, please do not talk or text on your cell phone.
- To find a parking spot and leave the site quickly, please follow the instructions of the Security Team directing traffic.
- At the end of the day, meet your child in the assigned assembly area in front of the church. It is important the counselor is aware you are leaving with your child. If a child disappears from their group without the counselor’s knowledge, they will issue a lost child alert which may lead to closing the campus until the child is found. Each car leaving the site will need to be inspected for the missing child. This can lead to serious traffic problems and lengthy delays for everyone.
Note: In order to pick up your child, you must present the security card that matches the number on your child's wristband. If you have lost your card, the counselor will not let you take your child. You will need to come to the Summer Hummer Headquarters desk to have ID checked. This is for your child's safety. New cards and wristbands will need to be issued from HQ. - It takes time to get several hundred cars in and out of our campus. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
WHAT IF I MUST PICK UP MY CHILD EARLY FROM CAMP?
If you arrive late for drop off, after 9 a.m., you must park your car and sign-in your child at Camp Headquarters (located in the church foyer). Camp staff will insure your child is reunited with their group quickly.
If you wish to pick up your child early one day during camp, please tell your child’s counselor in advance (preferably the day before). Please indicate what time you would like to pick your child up. With advance knowledge, camp staff will arrange to have the camper report to Camp Headquarters to meet you. In the event you need to pick up your child unexpectedly, please sign-out your child at Camp Headquarters. Camp staff will locate your child’s group and escort your child to Camp Headquarters. Please note this may take up to 10 minutes.
Early pick up cut off is at 3:30. We will not be pulling campers out of closing assembly. If you absolutely must pick them up we can pull them out before closing assembly and they can wait at headquarters.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY CHILD FROM CAMP?
Yes, anyone picking up a child from camp needs to have the matching security card. A physical security card must be on hand to pick up your child. Pictures of security cards will not be accepted. If you need to have someone else pick up your child at the last minute you must call and arrange it with camp headquarters.
