The 2011 Summer Hummer Mission Project

In 2010, the children (with some help from their parents) raised $10,000 to help a village in Asia build a dorm to house children at a school.  Now, remember that is $10,000 in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters! WAY TO GO!

This year we are again going to be encouraging the Summer Hummer campers to bring in their lose change for a great cause.   Each day of camp, we will be sharing with your children about the city of Osera, which is in the Eastern Europeon county of Ukraine. 

Pastor Sasha, who lives in Osera and has visited Westwood several times, has negotiated with the town’s Mayor to donate a piece of land for a park.  While this new park will be a great addition to this town filled with children, it will be missing something important.  Unless the families of Summer Hummer step in and help out!

Our Mission project for 2011 will be to raise money to complete the park for the city of Osera and build a fun and safe playground for the children.  Can we do it again?  With your help we can!
